Universitas Islam Malang (UNISMA), through the English Student Association (ESA), successfully organized the National English Festival (NEF), featuring three competition categories: Speech, Story Telling, and English Olympiad. The preliminary rounds were conducted online, leading to the offline final on November 25, 2023, at UNISMA.
The NEF 2023 adopted the theme "Creating A Power Courage to acquire The better Nation People." With 580 participants from middle to high school levels, only 30 made it to the final round, showcasing their dedication to vie for the championship.
M. Ali Haidar, the head organizer of NEF 2023, expressed appreciation for the committee's hard work, emphasizing the significant efforts put into making this ESA UNISMA event a success. He acknowledged the support of parents and highlighted the collective endeavor to surpass the previous year's accomplishments.
In a gesture of gratitude, the organizer thanked all committee members and recognized the collaborative effort to create a platform for participants to grow and achieve satisfying results in the future.
Following a rigorous judging process, the finalists demonstrated high dedication and competitive spirit throughout the event's various stages.
The closing ceremony included the presentation of awards to winners across different competition categories. The success of NEF 2023 is hoped to inspire and provide a platform for students to enhance their English language skills.
The event was graced by the presence of Mr. Eko Suhartoyo, S.Pd, M.Pd, the Head of the English Education Department at the Faculty of Education at UNISMA. He delivered a speech, opening the final round of NEF 2023 and encouraging the participants.
